The Nuclear Physics group in egnaged in experimental studies of nuclear matter and its nucleonic and sub-nucleonic constituents.
Hadronic Physics
Nuclear Structure and Dynamics
Physics of Quark and Gluon Plasma (QGP)
Hadronic Physics
addressing the structure and dynamics of nucleons via high energy electron scattering at the Jefferson Laboratory (JLab) and at the future Electron Ion Collider in USA. The JLab12 group is also angaged in the search for light dark matter (LDM) in beam-dump experiments at JLab.
More information about the Hadronic Physics groups can be found at this link.
Nuclear Structure anbd Dynamics
studying the structure of atomic nuclei, their reactions and the Equation of State, including their astrophysical implications in nucleosynthesis and in the proerties of neutron stars. Experiments are performed at international laboratoires such as the INFN LNS and LNL, GANIL in France, GSI/FAIR in Germany, FRIB in the USA, and at the CERN neutron beam facility n_ToF.

Physics of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP)
The ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) collaboration studies the production and properties of the so-called Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, with proton-proton, proton-heavy ion and heavy ion-heavy-ion collisions at ultrarelativistic energies. The QGP is expected to represent the state of matter at the very early stages of the history of our universe, right after the Big Bang.
