The standard Quantum Mechanics formalism, based on the wave function and the Schroedinger equation, is unable to describethe reduction ("collapse") of the wave function that occurs in experimental measurements and other related physical processes.The Copenhagen "interpretation" of Quantum Mechanics excludes the possibility of a microscopic description of any quantum phenomena, and demands that only a macroscopic language should be used, leaving the wave function as a calculational tool only, with no counterpart in the description of physical processes.In this way the reduction is a process that cannot be described ("unspeakable") on principle. This is in contrast with the common practice, where the wave function has some status of reality,since its dynamics is essential in devising any experiment or describing physical phenomena.
