The Catania section has a long standing tradition in the activities related to the INFN technological and multidisciplinary searches coordinated by CSN5. 

Scientists of the Catania sections are currently involved in the development of cutting-edge techniques and advanced searches related to many different applied-physics fields as: 

  • Cultural Heritage 
  • Medical physics 
  • Development of new detectors
  • Computing
  • Accelerators physics

These activities are of great interest not only for fundamental physics, but also for other areas of research such as economic and social life.
